It is a term used in Mexico that are generalized uns number of plants of the genus Rumex, of the Poligonaceae family. They have a sour, slightly bitter flavor and are used as a condiment, to make sauces and elsaladas. They are commonly known as sorrel, sorrel, sorrel, maxtla, cow, mamaxtl language, agrilla, axococo, majuela, galley, perucho, cruet.
